In 2004, she founded Jones Consulting working as an independent contractor with various agencies on social service projects, conducting counseling sessions, and instructing other social service specialists and behavioral health counselors on industry procedures and documentation. In 2008, expanded the scope of her private practice and restricted under the Jones Family Counseling and Consulting, LLC. There she taught schoolteachers on effective techniques in communicating with students dealing with troubled home lives. She traveled across the country delivering seminars on mental health disorders and behavioral health solutions. She delivered seminars on mental disorders, taught classes on parenting, conflict resolution, and effective discipline, among others.
In October of 2015, BMC and JFCC entered into an agreement to merge, creating a comprehensive personal development and business management organization. The merger and creation of the new Burroughs & Jones Counseling and Consulting, LLC was completed in February of 2016, and she was named as the combined company’s chief operating officer. In September of 2021, she was named Program Chair for the Addiction and Substance Abuse Counseling (ASAC) Program at Albany Technical College in Albany, GA.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She is a Certified Parent Educator, a Certified Anger Management Specialist II, and Certified Educator in School Counseling. She is a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Certified Master Addiction Counselor. Also, she is a Certified Instructor for Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Sexual, Physical, & Emotional Abuse. Additionally, she founded and serves as Chairperson of Southside Positive Intervention Coalition for Education (S.P.I.C.E.) which is a local non-profit organization organized to give guidance and encouragement to at-risk teenage, minority, young males in the community through counseling, programming, and scholarship.
She is a member of the American Counselors Association, the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, Alpha Kappa Delta International Honor Society of Sociology, and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
A native of Georgia, she earned associate degrees in secondary education and social work from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA; a bachelor of science degree in sociology and a master of sociology degree with a concentration in social work from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA, with highest honors, and a master of education degree in school counseling from Albany State University in Albany, GA with high honors.
